I've got a geforce2 with a fan that's driving me nuts. Can I unplug the fan, or is that going to overheat it? I'm using it for a linux web server machine that sits idle for the most time. Or should I stop being lazy and just swap out the vid card?

i'd say depends on what model. if it's a GTS or a Ti i'd use caution.

meh, my brother used his ti-4200 without the fan spinning for about a week with no problems, he just couldnt game. video cards dont produce much heat at all when they arnt under 3d stress.
