Is this upgrade worth it?

Ok i have some free money so i thought i might upgrade graphics to a 7900gt from an x800xl but is it worth or should i wait for the next gen cards to drive down prices on x1900xt and 7900gtx?
If iam going to drop $300 on a vid card i would like it to last at least around a year.

For that rez I'd jump on a 7900gt/x1800xt, and as for the waiting question, playing the waiting game never pays off.

Unless you plan on voltmodding that 7900GT.

Theres an open box X1900XT at newegg for $360, if you also want to check on that.

Either a 7900gt or a x1800xt will be a noticeable improvement over a x800xl.
