Is this uncommon?

My bro just put together a new system with dual p3 733's. with stock cooling on both chips he posted at 166 fsb. he didnt do anything at that speed bc he was worried about cooking something but i was just astonished that it would post that high. any thoughts?

It's not uncommon if you have high quality RAM.

Nothing is going to cook. Try running some strenous benchmarks on your RAM and CPU at that speed. If the computer freezes, reset it immidiately and try a lower setting.

the ram is 2 sticks of 256 micron 133... ill get him to try it tonight... (sure would speed up making those "backups" of my dvds 😉 )
