To All:

The National Directory of Cell Phone Numbers is about to be published.
Once this happens telemarketers will have access to your cell phone
number. Because the majority of us rely on our cell phones for business
use, this will be extremely disruptive. These calls will also use our
cellular minutes.

In a few weeks, cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing
companies and you will start to receive sales calls. Call this number
from
your cell phone 888-382-1222. It is the national Do Not Call list. It
blocks your number for 5 years. Please pass on to anyone that might
have
been missed.

You can also go to <<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx>">https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx></a> and register
online.

Normaly I'd say text+email=true. ;)

However, this does look legit. I did a reverse lookup on the number, and it's listed as:

Us Do Not Call National Registry
Vienna, VA 22180
(888) 382-1222

NOT TRUE

Cingular's Response:

"Cingular is the nation?s largest wireless carrier, and we are not aware of any plans to publish a ?national directory of cell phone numbers.? We would never allow our customers? phone numbers to be published without their prior consent.

And with regard to telemarketers, it is illegal to use an auto-dialer (the automatic telephone dialing systems often used by telephone solicitors) to call a wireless phone without the prior express consent of the person being called."
