You say that because you're a tall girl, so you've already had to cope with the idea that most guys are going to be shorter than you. You're OK with it. However, the guys that you date may not have dealt with too many tall women before, so they haven't.

Talk to some short guys and ask them who cares more about height differences, and they'll certainly say it's the girls who have a problem with it.

I'm sure they will, but that's not the whole story. I've never heard any women whining about her guy being too tall or too short.

So I'm better than the king of manlets, but not swooning women with my height alone.
hmmm

Honestly I could care less about my 5'11" height. Never bothered me much. Tall lanky people look weird, and I'd be a tall lanky person. You can get away with sub-lankiness when just shy of 6'. :awe:

I'm more interested in height when it comes to females. A few inches shorter than me, we're all good.
a 5'8" woman, with a good figure, is like the golden ratio in human form. ;)

In reality, matching personality (and good looks) is really all I'd care about with a woman. Anything else is just cake.

I've always wanted a guy taller than 6'5".

You're not whining about your guy being too short but you definitely have a strong enough preference that you have an exact measurement at hand. My experience has been that women are a little more particular about height than men. Men seem to just have a nonspecific preference that their woman be shorter than they are while women seem to have rather specific requirements along the lines of "must be at least six feet tall" even though they themselves are an average 5'5". This preference on the woman's part is understandable because at the end of the day we're animals driven by reproductive instincts and women want a man who's big and can protect them. When a man dates a woman taller than him it messes with his own self image of this.

Thats good because there's nothing you can do to change it and guys who are in the 5'7" - 5'11" range seem to forget that 5'9" is the average and they get all worked up about it.

It's not a preference, just something I haven't done, but would like to. I didn't post anything about not wanting to date anyone shorter than me, so please don't put words in my mouth.

I get the "would like to" thing...an experience you'd like someday but not a deal breaker or a have to kind of thing...same with me, would be nice but meh, if it happens it happens if not oh well

Seems like most guys won't date tall gals, because it's "weird".

My problem is length. I can't find any longer than 35" inseam, but I really need 36" or 37".

Bingo.

I dated a girl who was 6'3", physically she was extremely beautiful, played volleyball, and modeled.

Being 6'5" I had no issues with her being taller than me, but I just can't do it. Something about women being at my eyelevel when I'm standing freaks me the hell out.

Authoritarian maybe? I don't know. I just can't do it. My current girlfriend is 5'3" or 5'4".

I'm 5' 8"... height has never been an issue in my life. 2 of my best friends are 6' 4"

I wouldn't mind being a little taller but its not like I ever get shit for being short.

And I didn't post claiming you had said you didn't want to date anyone shorter than you so by the same token please avoid putting words into my mouth as well. I prefer blonds with long hair but that doesn't mean I don't want to date brunettes with short hair I hope that's not confusing because preference and exclusion are two very different things.

You've been a little combative with me for some reason so maybe this is a sensitive issue for you and if that's the case I can only recommend accepting your height for what it is because you aren't able to change it. There's no reason to be defensive about it and it's okay to admit you'd prefer to date a taller guy than a shorter guy. It doesn't make you shallow or lesser of a person because everyone has these preferences. It's best just to own these things rather than hide from them.

5'7" here, and while I'm at a disadvantage for dating, I still find women in the 5'2-5'5 range without problem.
