Is this true? Graphic Images.

Yea, depleated uranium shells. Old news.

That video uses some classic deformed baby pictures.

IIRC, it's less poisonous than lead (which is what bullets WERE made out of...)

Obviously it's not radioactive...just somewhat poisonous.

its idiotic - if the depeted uranium shells were that hazardous, how would you be able to handle them? You can you can buy depleted uranium ammo for guns in general....

Also the pics shown are rare genetic defects, not results of radiation

however it is a known fact that excessive radiation causes genetic mutations at a higher rate.

and im guessing they process uranium into weapon ammo in a special facility.

DU is a heavy metal, when a DU round hits a solid object it shatters and becomes dust. That said dust goes into the air, gets inhaled by the local population. It also goes into ground water where people drink it. Animals also drink the water, animals which people then eat. Heavy metals of any kind are not good for your body and results in all sort of nasty side effects like birth defects.

Its primarily dangerous because its a heavy metal, not because its slightly radioactive.

Its primarily dangerous because it posseses alot of inertia and will therefore do greater damage to a target.

In the Robotech series they used DU as the shells for the human weapons.

Depleted uranium has an insanely long half-life because it releases so little radiation at a time. This is why people can handle tank shells without harm. Its as damaging as any other heavy metal if ingested, but not moreso.

I've been trained in how to react to DU ammunition and I can tell you outright that what I just saw was pure, 100% propaganda. If 67% of Gulf War veterans had children with birth defects, then why don't I know a single one that has ever had such a child with a birth defect? I can honestly say that I have known at least 100 or more Gulf War veterans most of which who had children after they returned from the war.

Ditto to all of this. The official line from the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Federation of American Scientists is that there aren't any measurable health effects from the radioactive content of DU.

Go, Liberal hate machine! Go!!!!!

Keep up your whining and you'll be speaking some language...but it won't be English.

Freedom isn't free, nor is it pretty. You like doing what you want, like posting this thread, right? Then STOP WHINING you pansy and realize that in order to make an omlet (i.e. your idyllic life here in the USA) you've got to break a few eggs.

The USA is no long immune from "world war." 911 ring a bell? We just must continue to kick ass and forget the names if we wish to continue to live freely.

WTF.. I bet they got those photos out of a OBGYN book... Look through the book and you'll find babies that look like that when women smoke, do drugs, drink or be just plain normal. War is gruesome..

From Patton:

"The object of war isn't to die for your country but to make the other poor bastard die for his."

*nod*

Wasn't there a dinner plate and dinnerware that was radioactive too? I think it was made out of clay from Arizona or somthing and got pulled because of it..
