i certainly feel you're wrong in this case, and tired old generalisations like that help no one :p

EDIT: there are FAR more risque things than that in many people's sigs, but whatever...

Take your chances - others have gottened a vacations and/or banned for a similar attitude on such a subject. Having it within a thread may have stricter standards that in a sig (sigs can be blocked out)

However, if a Mod feels that it is inappropriate and you fail to comply; watch out....

And how is the following sig not worth a vacation?

:D <--- Not Mohammad.

That one is offensive to Muslims but nothing has been done over it. A patent display of double standards if there ever was one.

If that passes, I'll so take that in my sig :D.

The moment we stop with that ideal, is the moment we let morality slip. It's either that, or we just say anything goes. Since we aren't going to say anything goes, then some things cannot be acceptable. It's a black and white issue. So as I said, if you have to ask, it probably isn't ok. Better safe than sorry.

You are right, some sigs are bad, even worse. But we'd need a mod dedicated just to sigs to keep up with that, this is a very lively forum. Can't expect the mods to catch it all.

See Malak's answer.

Common sense and decency go a long way in the world.

Then why have the people who have been using the Mohammad sig not been banned? By the same license, can I use the Holocaust denier sig?

Why would allowing you to do wrong help the situation in anyway? Do not try to justify your own actions by another's wrong doing. There will always be bad people, you cannot justify your actions by their's.

The Holocaust happened; it was a physical event.

The Mohammad sig is an opinion that is a statement regarding the attitudes of those who profess to follow those teachings.

To me, the sig seems to be a statement against those that profess to follow the teachings and have twisted his message to support their own hatred/frustration.

Difference between fact and opinion and the results of such things.

Then why aren't they being banned?

Isn't this mod bias showing through? Then again, why ask the question. It is.

And the holocaust denier sig isn't an opinion? It won't cause anyone physical harm. Your argument is ridiculous.

Your arguements are moot. The mods are the ones in control, whether you like it or not. Attacking their position won't help in persuading them to action. Threats are futile. If you don't like someone's sig, then PM the mods. After that, it is out of your control.
