So I was driving a couple friends home around 1am a few nights ago and I was pulled over. Since it was young guys in a beat up volvo late at night, the cops, of course, thought we were all high. Once they decided that we were sober and they weren't going to find anything, they let me go, but not without a ticket for violating the restrictions on New Jersey's provisional liscense.
Now if you are unfamiliar, the provisional liscense law goes as follows. If you have the liscense, you cannot drive between 12am-5am or drive with more than one other passanger in the car.
However, I have had my liscense for much longer than the provisional period (one year). After that year you can get your liscense updated so that it doesn't say "provisional liscense" instead it will say operaters liscense. I hadn't gotten the liscense updated, but the cops could clearly see that I had been driving for more than a year from the experiation date on the liscense.
So basically the ticket I got (a $100 ticket no less, with required court appearance) is because I hadn't gotten two words changed on top of my liscense.
So basically my question is, is it worth fighting the ticket since I have to go to court anyway?
