Is this the way to fix this mini camera?

I bought one of those key fob cameras.
Well it died today, after about a week's use. I took it apart, and I'm guessing it was this short problem:

On mine the camera's metal backing was tilting back against the circuit board, appearing to make contact with the battery wires where they connect to the board.
BTW, mine was a V4 with a Hyundai chip. Too bad, was a good little camera, all week.

Someone mentioned I can just solder a new battery in, and it ll work again. Won't that short it again by using a soldering iron?

And on my new camera, as prevention, I guess I should straighten the camera and put some paper or something between the camera backing and the battery wires?

Thanks!

Excellent site about these cameras.

No, just desolder each pin off one at a time, use some soldering braid to suck the solder out of the holes, solder the new battery in one pin at a time.

off topic: the 'capacitors' in their pictures bridging the resistors are crystal oscillators, if you have that problem, slide a little piece of tubing around them or use some black electrical tape.
