Is this the place for suggestions?

When browsing the fs/ft section I was thinking. Wouldnt it be better if the OP of a thread could do like a "postless" bump? That way there wouldnt be 2 or 3 pages of posts that contain nothing but " bump" or the equivalent. Maybe even have the 4 hour rule built into it so a person could only click the "bump thread " button every 4 hours.

Good idea, however, having someone post an actual post makes it easier to keep track of who excessively bumping their own thread.

there used to be a way to view threads by the original post date, rather than by when it was bumped. but it was lost in an "upgrade" a few versions back.

NAh. I was referring to the OP having access to a bump option only. Like an edit button.

That way only posts by other members would be in the thread. Unless there were things to questions, yadda yadda.

That's exactly my point. If the OP can anonymously bump his own thread without any "record" of the times he bumped it at, it would be difficult to make sure people were not excessively bumping their thread.

No, reread my original post. The button could actually be grayed out until the said post was eligible to be bumped. It could actually help enforce the 4 hour rule.

Ah, then that would be nice but I think that's mroe a suggestion for fusetalk and not the AT Mods

Alternatively there could be a "bumped by" section at the end of the thread with timestamps and such.

These are the people who can make that happen.
