Question Is this the death of "true" midrange G-Sync monitors?

Now that nvidia cards support FreeSync, does this mean manufacturers will stop producing midrange gsync panels like Acer xb271hu/Dell S2417DG/S2716DG or will similar new monitors continue to be produced? This would be a downer as gsync modules had some advantages over FreeSync.

Not sure, thinking about mid-range I think cost is always a factor. I hope that their new drivers will encourage improvements in Freesync monitors instead of the meager attempts to just get the Freesync name attached to the display. Ideally it's an improvement across the board for all gaming monitors.

I think most people would get a freesync 2 monitor just for the flexibility, unless you are completely price insensitive (and replace all your equipment all of the time).
