I ended up getting this retail box Rosewill. It comes with a 1 year warranty. All the different brands perform about the same. Maybe some would overclock better than others, although the x800XL, from what I hear, does not overclock very well anyway. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the OEM items come with only a 30 day retail warranty?

good choice. i have the same card, and if your into overclocing, its not a bad card. i have it oc'd to 450/540 (50mhz each), and no stability probs at all (could prolly go farther). i have a waterblock on the gpu, and no cooling on the ram, but still, i dont think its too bad of an oc.

i would get the asus its not much more then the other ones. i think the asus even lights up so if your going for looks as well would be a good choice.

looks dont matter for 99% of people. buying hardware based on looks is not a good idea...

fatty4ksu--shouldn't you be banned

I vote for the Powercolor or ATI.

the best and the worst dont perform any different when their specs are the same. lets be realistic here.

Gigabyte x800XL. $283 i think?

It's got a huge heatsink passive cooling system. X800XLs dont OC well anyways, so you dont lose much by going with passive cooling. Plus its silent. I'm gonna get it =)

But, god forbid, if something were to go wrong, wouldn't you want the best warranty and customer support? Which is more important?

Most people (including myself) put looks very low on most of our hardware (except the case and front color of the optical drives). Hell, in my silver case, my floppy drive is black because the black was $3 cheaper...

It's more like "get the one that's the cheapest or with the best warantee"

I beleive that the PowerColor was rated "Best Buy" at an AT review.
