Sorry for the newbie Q, but I thought I'd ask to make sure...

I just finished building my system and have it up and running. In CMOS, my stats are:

CPU: 33c
System: 17c

I have put an SK-7 w/ a Vantec Stealth on top of my Athlon (1.1ghz) and have also 3 NMB and 2 Sunon case fans.

Am I ok? Thanks in advance!

I'd say you're golden. Did you use heatsink compound? If you didn't, those numbers are pretty damned good. Nice work.

Seems a little odd that your system temps are below that of your room. Are you sure you didnt mean 27c? If it is reading 17c then you have a problem. What sort of board are you using? You may want to consider flashing the bios to see if that fixes the diodes. If not, get a external temp probe.

My apartment is a little cool - and I'm not sure how accurate the thermostat reads - those temps are also with all of the case cladding removed. I'll post updated numbers when I get home from work...

It isnt just that... Your mother board temperature is 17C (62.6F) while your room temperature is 21c (70F). That is impossible with just air cooling. You have a problem somewhere.

I set my CPU to 1.4ghz / 133fsb in the BIOS and removed the front entrance fan (as it was loud as all hell). This is also with all of the case "cladding" put back on to seal the box.

My current temps are:

CPU: 46c
System: 33c

Good? or should I buy a quiet front fan?

Thx, everyone!

well his case temp is low because he just opened his computer..
you have to let it sit for 20 minutes or so to get a better idea of what the temps are....

Is this from Sandra? Often with Sandra and many other programs for that matter? The sensors are read backwards.

Another noob

Just built my computer last week and am using MSI K7N2G-L mobo with AMD Athlon XP 2100+ at 1.73 Ghz.
I'm also wondering about temps, CPU is 53.0 C and System temp is 32.0 C, are these ok?
