this is my other system that i have just purchased quite cheaply, can you guys give me some feedback on how well it will run in games like unreal tournament 2007!

I dont currently plan on overeclocking, anyway here are the specs:

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
A64 4000+ San Diego core with 1MB of L2 Cache
Adata Vitesta DDR500 im going to run this ram at DDR400 and really tighten up the timings for gaming.
ATI Radeon x1900 XTX 512MB

any opinions would be appreciated 🙂

Single core CPU for future games? 😕
You don't say how much RAM, but leaving it @ DDR500 with slightly looser timings > DDR400 w/ tight timings in most cases.
GPU should be fine for 1600x1200 or below.

Why not just use the system for now, then you can be the first one to tell us how well it will plays UT2007. I'm thinking that, even at stock speeds, it's fast enough that it being single-core won't hurt it much.

just use the system for now. wait till u2007 actually comes out. we will probably be up to quad cores by then and duals will be a lot cheaper

The Unreal Engine has a legacy of being great at scalability - looking good on everything, right from the lowest of the low to the most extreme systems.
I wouldn't worry too much with a 2.4GHz A64 and what is currently one of the fastest GPUs money can buy.

Fret not, my friend 🙂 Your system is just fine. Crank up the IQ!

I would hold off on buying anything else. Plus your GPU is a nice one so I don't think you should have any problems. You say you don't plan to OC, but leave that open as I said the same thing. Now my X2 4400+ is OC'd to 2.5GHz....
