Is this surge protector good enough?

I'm looking for a small surge protector for my 26" LCD TV.

I saw this one by Belkin:

All I need is one outlet and I don't want any of that other stuff like phone line or coax filtering. Is the above surge protector enough for a 26" LCD TV?

That almost looks like the one I have plugged into my ceiling for the projector. Of course you could always get something like this --

It is a little more money, but will be about as flush / small as you can get.

How difficult is that to install? I've never replaced an electrical outlet before.

Wow I need to get back working as an EE and sell surge protectors.

Its fine.
Don't pay much for surge protectors as they are 95% all the same inside. Also don't buy based on the so called 'insurance'. You will have one hell of time proving it is their product that allowed the damage.

Similar specs. to the Belkin, but has this "MOV" thing I see mentioned alot when looking for surge protectors.

They *all* have MOVs. What you want is one without them. Unfortunately they cost ~$200.

Buy a cheap one that pays out reliably.

I haven't installed one of those before but it shouldn't be any different than any electrical outlet.

Kill the breaker
Remove cover
Remove the screws from gang-box
Remove wires from receptacle
Place wires in same place on new receptacle
Screw into gang-box
Replace cover
Turn on the circuit breaker.

(of course always follow the instructions provided with the unit)

I wouldn't pay $45 for it (vs the $10 for the single outlet), but then again, I've got no wife inspecting my work
