I found it works best to just stick it in your ears. Greatly reduces car noise!

The Hyundai Genesis has sound absorber injected inside the frame pillars! Car makers will put that stuff everywhere if the goal is to make things quiet. There's a reason ripping that stuff out is considered a significant weight-saving technique.
