Is this slow for a LAN connection on my home network?

Hi guys, I'm transferring a backed up DVD from one computer to another across my home network and it seems painfully slow.

The file size is about 8 GB, and it's projected to take about ~200 min. According to task manager, the network utilization is always between 2-9% or so on both systems, and CPU utilization is never above 10% on either system.

Shouldn't it be faster? The two computers are connected by a Netgear Wireless Firewall Router (though they're both wired into it), model WGT624. Is there anything, anything at all, that I can do to speed this up? It just seems like it should be faster.

Thanks in advance guys,
Jeff

do you have wireless card installed and configured on each computer?
If so , it may go wireless card first.....

No, I don't have wireless cards on either of them, they're both hooked up by ethernet cables. I've also deactivated the wireless activity of the router because I'm not using any wireless functions yet.

Well, it resolved...a plug in I had installed for MCE 2005 (My Movies) was evidently causing my system to generally freeze up after awhile. Not sure why...but uninstalling it has caused everything to go back to normal.
