specs:
msi k8n neo2 (939)
A64 3200+
xfx geforce 6600gt
1gig ddr400 ram

My score was between 18,000 and 19,000. I tried to do the comparison thing and it wouldn't pull anything up. I'll try it again when i get home.

Is this score about right?

That benchmark is CPU bound now. Not worth it to bench it as the results will be based on CPU performance. Do 2003 or 2005, better yet play some real games and you make the decision on performance.

I've been playing world of warcraft and half-life 2. They both run pretty good. I've updated my drivers and everything. I haven't downloaded the newest bios update. I'm not sure how much of a performance increase that would provide. I recently purchased the board.

that's strange that awesome jay scored as high or higher than I did with a slower processor and video card... any explanations?

The 9800 pro is pretty much on par with the 6600 GT as far as 3dmark scores are concerned so his score shouldn't be too much of a surprise with regards to that.
