Let's say I have 3 partitions. One is Win2K and the other is Win98. On the third I want all my programs and I want to share them between partitions. Is this possible? If not is there another way of doing this? Anybody done this?

first of all let me clear what you want first. You want win 2k and win 98 to share files? I think you can do that cause I think I have a few programs that I share between Win 98 and Win 2k. So what you need to do is when you install a program A for example on the Win 98, point that to the data partition and so when you want to install program A on Win 2k you just point that also to the data partition. To do that, when you want to do installation, use custom install. One more thing is you must make the data parition as fat32. If that's what you want then I think I give you the answer but if that's not what you want, ask me again and I will try to help you again.

Yeah thats good info. Im just trying to think whats going to happen. I have this .exe and i run it and install on the data partition for windows98. Then I boot into windows 2000 and run that same .exe and install on the same data partition but will it copy the files right over the ones already there (Im pretty sure it will). Ok I think I see how it will work now. I got it. Thanks alot for your help. I just kinda needed to see it visually first.

like you said, it will overwrite the files but since they are the same then it should be fine.
