If true, I half regret buying the Note 8. I recall reading on XDA, or somewhere, that the Exy4412/Mali400 were limited to 1280x800 resolutions though?

Samsung’s portfolio of devices is surely a well-guarded secret and having it all leak out is a dubious affair, but in this case the source is SamMobile, a relatively trustworthy publication, and it brings some good news.

Galaxy Tab 7 looks depressing.

Galaxy Tab 8 looks like it could be promising at the right price.

Galaxy Tab 11 and Nexus 11... Who actually wants an 11 inch tablet? This just seems stupid to me. I had an 11.6 inch Windows 8 tablet and as a tablet I just found it too big and awkward to hold for too long. 11.6 inch tablets make a little bit of sense with Windows 8 as hybrid devices with keyboards. But to me makes less sense for Android. If I want a hybrid, I'm buying a Windows 8 tablet, not an Android.

PS. The micro SD in a Nexus tablet is funny as heck. That's not happening.

PPS. And I'm also suspicious of Nexus 11 rumors this early. Nexus 10 is not quite 6 months old yet. I doubt Google is announcing a Nexus 11 at Google IO. Nexus 11 rumor before any good new Nexus 7 rumors doesn't sound right.

Samsung's the Apple of the Android world, they could release a single core phone with 512mb of ram and it would outsell HTC's flagship. My neighbor loves Samsung phones, and he literally doesn't understand a single spec, or even look into what it has. To him, if it's newer, it's better. And if it's Samsung it's better than anything another company puts out. I'm sure he represents far more consumers than nerds on tech forms.

I don't believe Samsung command that big of following in the market. Their tablet line-up's haven't gotten much traction at all compared to their phones. Even the Nexus 10 sold less then the Nexus 7 last I heard. Despite the N10 being arguably best Android tablet in the market.

Consumers aren't total idiots, except for a few who are not technically versed or who has no reason to pay attention to tech (different field of work or simply rational ignorance)

Many analysts have Samsung as the #2 tablet seller behind Apple and more than ASUS and Amazon combined. Not sure how solid the numbers are, but Samsung actually does surprisingly well.

People don't go to walmart to look for $400 dollar piece of electronics as their first place. So unless you know walmart carries it (nexus 10), as well as you know what you are looking for (nexus 10), you are not going to go to walmart to buy a $400 dollar tablet.

Furthermore walmart has most electronics locked in a cage not on a display where you can look and touch it.

So for non techies how are walmart locations helping with pushing sales?

For techies why don't you just buy from google play instead of buying from walmart in the first place?

That link showed Samsung's tablet share increased quite a bit in Q1 2013 over Q1 2012. And there are a lot of choices available.

As much as I hate to agree with the earlier poster, I think people are just buying the Samsung brand without much regard of specs.

Samsung took a page from the Marketing Handbook and applied it. 12 months ago, if you went into a Best Buy to look at tablets, the iPads would be on their own end shelf display section, brightly lit, clean, with Apple/iPad info sheets with easy to read and see information. All the other tablets were grouped together in a single row, covered in finger prints, sometimes their batteries were dead because the power was moved to the neighboring device, the Asus Transformers would have their docks disconnected, all of them would have a plethora of webs installed and usually running the background, etc. This gave a false impression of slow performance, cheap quality, etc. Samsung eventually moved their devices to a separate island display with only Samsung units on it, better info cards, no Google account set up to install apps willy nilly, and a password lock on the Settings.
