Heres the deal. My BA digital media theatres finally crapped out after 2.5 years of pounding the other day. I got them from gateway with 3 year warranty so they sent new ones. They apparently dont make the media theatres anymore so they gave me the BA7500's. My other speakers still work, although they cut out after about an hour of listening, so I decided to try to hook both sets of speakers up. I split the line in from the sound card with one of those headphone Y splitter things, and have everything else hooked up normally. With the 2 subs, these babies really pound, and I have about a week until I have to send the broken set back to gateway, is this safe running them like this?
Thanks

As long as they are the same ohm and you dont drive them too hard it should be OK.

I used to have a Y-splitter that took the line out of my sound card and split it to my Yamaha speakers and my stereo system. I had it like this for about a year and nothing broke.

Yeah, the subs are pretty much identical, I was just wondering if splitting the line out signal from the sound card would reduce the signal the speakers get and harm them. Oh well, these things pound HARD with 2 subs :) Too bad it cant last. Man, I need some Klipsh's!
