I used to set my swapfile useage min and max to the same number (usually 1.5x your RAM) in 98 and ME so that windows wouldn't spend time resizing the swap file. I got 512 ram right now so its not a problem. But i was wondering if its safe to do this in XP? I know that its build on the NT core and it manages memory differently. do i still need to do this?

It works perfectly in XP. I have it on two systems, and set the "fixed" pagefile on a separate, small partition so it does not constantly cause fragmentation on my C drive. I set it at 500 MB and XP seems to love it . . . solid as a rock. Regular RAM is 768 MB.
