Is this really true?

I'm doing some research for my first build and have been looking into a very simple motherboard with everything I need and nothing I don't need. The Motherboard I'm looking into is the Asus P5Q:
My only concern right off was one of the reviews a customer left on newegg:

" Cons: No onboard GPU. You need to install the motherboard, take the cmos battery out, change bios jumper, turn system on and then off (nothing will happen), wait ten minutes, reinstall cmos battery, place bios jumper back to original location...and then and only then will your graphics card work. Pay close attention to dimensions of board...HP towers probably won't fit."

My question is wether this is a normal thing that everyone has to deal with?
and if so how many other things like this am I going to run into?

The main reason I am concerned is because the manual say's nothing about this
and I am hoping for a hassle free build. I am not looking to overclock my system and was hoping to not have to mess with jumpers and cmos just to build a simple sytem. Is this guy on newegg serious? I was really hoping to find everything I needed to know in the manual in case I didn't have internet on the day of the build.

LOL, buyer reviews at newegg, ncix etc are virtually useless.

This guy somehow messed up his BIOS and had to reset the CMOS, and he did it the hard way. New Asus boards will reset the CMOS if you hold the power button during POST.

Geez, I love it when people blame the hammer for their smashed fingers! It looks to be a good board but i guess I'm biased.

A BIOS reflash is really trivial. not to worry. You may have to change some BIOS settings to get the first post, depends on alot of stuff.

About the only thing to be gained by reading comments on the EGG is that the more people that complain about a product, the more it means that at least a minimum amount of intelligence is needed to use it.

The reviews can be useful. They need to be taken with a truck load of salt, but once you're used to reading them, it becomes easier to find the truth amongst the crap.

That guy's a putz. Well, if you check the specs on the ASUS site, you can tell it has no integrated video - so how can you slight it for the lack. The Specs tab on Newegg also says no onboard video. If you want a mobo with integrated video, buy one... I've used lots of older Asus boards with little problem and I have an ASRock in my current system. As usual, you read the manual thru once and refer to it while you're doing the install. Check the ASUS web site for applicable FAQs and driver updates (what comes with mobos are seldom the latest versions), update to the latest BIOS at the first opportunity and things should go reasonably well. But there is always that off chance - so if you're a noob with low techie skillz, then arrange to do your build in a location with ready access to the web...

I find them very entertaining. Like the dumbasses who've written reviews on the 4870 who claim the 8800GT is faster. Very amusing. :)

I read few selected reviews espescialy the middle ratings (3,4).

Most of them are meaningless because it might be obvious that the reviewer does not know how to set the hardware.

However since NewEgg specification tab is very incomplete and up-hazard, and the manufacturer data sheet do not tell you which features are Not exsiting in the hardware reading few reviews can be useful in order to make sure that the hardware is Not lacking some features that I need.
