Is this really a 16 pipeline card?

What would they have been cut-down versions of? They were the top-end card when they were current.

You must be talking about the X800GTO. They have disabled pipelines.

I thought only the XL and XT version had 16 pipes. I thought the GTO had 12 pipes and the x800 had only 8.

If this is truly a 16 pipe card it is a steal.

I think the GTO was a dumbed down version of whatever core was in the X850

Maybe that's why it was unlockable.

Did some digging around...appears equal to an 800XL

"RADEON X800 CrossFire Edition 256MB ? 16 pixel pipelines, 6 vertex pipelines, 400MHz/1000MHz core/memory". I was shopping for a 7600GT but this price is just too good and I think they are about the same in benchmarks.

Actually the X800 vanilla has 12, the X800SE is the only one with 8 and they're very scarce. The X800GTO core is mostly based on the X800XL (R430, .11u process) They're a fews based on the R480 aka X850 cores, like the Sapphire ones. I know that the X800 Crossfire ran at a core Speed of 400MHz, but I don't remember if it had 12 pipelines or 16 pipelines like the X800XL.
