is this RAM compatible?

I wanted to purchase an additional 256 MB RAM (http://www.newegg.com/app/View...20-155-108&depa=0)

for this laptop:
Averatec AV5500-EA1 15" Notebook PC (AMD Sempron 2600+ Mobile Processor, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB Hard Drive, DVD/CD-RW Drive)


My only question is would this RAM work if i installed it into the laptop?

probably. does the laptop take DDR RAM? You could probably check what type of RAM your laptop takes by using the Crucial memory selector tool. It will give you specific part numbers for Crucial RAM, but it will also give you an idea of what kind of RAM your laptop takes.
