I am building a new system and would need a little help as I am not sure if the following ram will be compatible with my new motherboard. Basically I am on a budget so I was wondering if I could use the ram which is in my current system on my new build until I buy some new one.

I have 2x4GB for a total of 8GB.

This is the ram:

http://www.amazon.ca/4GB-Memory-Asus-CM1745-DDR3-10600/dp/B00HH7AZNG

And the motherboard:

http://www.ncix.com/detail/gigabyte-990fxa-ud3-amd990fx-atx-am3-2a-62403-1833.htm

It looks like it would be compatible but I just want to make sure as this is ram that was already in a pre-built Asus computer I had purshased at the store.

Thanks.

Generally, any DDR3 DIMM should be compatible with your motherboard. But, in some cases due to memory chip architecture used, and/or due to variation in component tolerances, some DIMM's may not be compatible.

However, according to the memory finder at Offtek, the FT512MLK64V3N DIMM is compatible with your GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard.

If it is found that the memory doesn't appear to work, then the DIMM may be faulty.
