Is this Radeon 8500 OEM or retail?

Is there a way to tell if a Radeon 8500 is retail or OEM? I?m looking for a visual reference.
All I have is the bare card. No cables, manuals or box. Oh and it doesn?t work??
My online order receipt says ?VGA ATI|RADEON 64M VIVO AGP DDR RTL? note the ?RTL? at the end. I do believe RTL means retail, but I would like to have a visual conformation on that.
Any help would be great!

Thanks?????

Yes I do think that the receipt implies a retail card, but that does not mean they sent me a retail card.
I'm looking fir a visual verification.

Thanks........

Are you sure it's an 8500? From that description it looks like the old Radeon 64mb VIVO based on the R100 core. AFAIK the only 8500s with VIVO are the AIW 8500s. Also, there are cards made by third parties sold as retail since they have their own retail box, but they're not manufactured by ATI and most likely have lower clock speeds.

I think I would have to agree with goog40. Besides, if you ordered the retail card, shouldn't come in the retail box with the driver CD & everything?

I'm inclined to agree with goog40, it doesnt sound like an R8500 at all. Though by the "RTL" I'd assume it is a retail product, thoug not necessarily ATi's own retail boards.

there are
1. original ATI card in retail box
2. original ATI card in bulk pack
3. 3rd party made card in their own retail box
4. 3rd party made card in bulk pack

Please buy from a reliable place like newegg, they've clear descriptions and pictures, so you can know what you're buying.

This was from Newegg............
The deal was that I purchased a 8500 retail refurbished card from them that was DOA. I returned the card and recieved this one as a replacement "refurbished"(wich is also DOA). "VGA ATI|RADEON 64M VIVO AGP DDR RTL" is what is on my RMA receipt. I'm realy not happy with Neweggs so called referibished practices, so I would like to try and RMA this to ATI directly is possible.

How do you get an online order reciept for an RMA? Something seems amiss.

Refurbished "retail" hmmmm.........

I purchased the 128MB 8500 refurb from Newegg for $120.00, and received a retail box (opened) Built by ATI card with all accessories. 🙂 It is just luck of the draw much of the time. The refurb MSI K7D Master duallie mobo I purchased for $125.00 came with no box (other than the FedX) and nothing else. Works great though. 😉

EDIT: I agree that you more than likely have an original 64MB Radeon VIVO, not the 8500... (going by the description).
