Is this racist? Suspicious kids being followed in grocery store

Two kids wearing a beanie pulled low, diamond earrings, and hoodies are in your store filming and acting suspicious. Not buying anything, just keeping an eye out for store employees.

If you keep an eye them from a distance, does that make you racist?

Can the store manager shoot them if attacked for keeping an eye on them due to their dress and behaviour?

The OP's racism gets worse and worse with every post of his in this thread. Enough.

Of course, who would suggest otherwise?

I'm not sure when "profiling" became a dirty word, but most police/Loss Prevention people would call it "detective work".

don't you know?? everything now a days is racist. And if you feel uncomfortable it must be SOMEONE ELSE'S FAULT!!

I'd keep a close eye on any kid wearing baggy clothing. If they look around to see if anyone is watching them and wander around without looking at or buying products only confirms suspicions.

Profiling is something we do every day. It's how we predict behavior and establish desired/predicted outcomes. It works, that's why we do it.

There is nothing suspicious or ghetto looking about those two kids. And yes its racist.

...And bigots work hard every day at justifying their bigotry in some manner that would make it appear rational and legitimate, except it isn't. Profiling is a big bunch of bullshit, because while you keep suspiciously eying black youths wearing street fashion, those not hitting your profile web of bigotry will fall through the cracks and get away with whatever behavior you were scanning for.

You know black people are allowed to go outside and dress any way they want. Truth is, you just want any excuse to show those true colors.

Wasn't there a recent problem with teens busting gallons of milk on the ground at stores?

Maybe the employee thought they were planning to pull that or another similar stupid stunt and post it on youtube?

Wearing a beanie pulled down on your eyelids to prevent positive ID is suspicious and ghetto. Add in 1ct+ diamond earrings, how can that kid afford that sort of jewelry? Most likely by selling drugs and stealing tide.

And the other one has his hoodie on, ready for the moment when he might get recognized by cameras.

And past their dress, they're walking around super suspicious making a point to watch out for security who might catch them.

Make the specific choice to act like a thug, dress like a thug..... Well.... Don't be surprised when you're treated like a thug.

And white kids dressed and acting like that would've been treated the exact same way, so explain how this is racist? A thug is a thug, has nothing to do with the skin, it has to do with the behaviour.

Anyone is allowed to dress how they want outside.

Rational people however know that people will judge you based on how you choose to present yourself.

Yup, and security people and neighborhood watch are allowed to follow them from a distance and keep an eye on them.

If you don't want to be treated like a thug don't dress and act like one. Simple as that.

God damn, how the fvck you can come in and just spew this bullshit is just unreal. You don't know a fvcking thing about those kids. There are blacks who do very well and can afford to buy 3ct stud earrings if they want, you prick.

I guess wearing a hoodie, even with the hood down, is cause for suspicion these days. I guess this marks the end of the fashion trend. Kids in Malaysia will have to stick to crafting argyle socks from now on.

(1) Did you miss the part about them being teens?

(2) Do you think that a black Wall Streeter or Lawyer is going to walk around wearing 3ct stud earrings?

What I know is how the CHOOSE to represent themselves.

They want to be treated like little thugs, they want the "street cred" and along with that comes the suspicion from law abiding people.

You might not like hearing 'the bullshit' but these are the facts, classy. You are treated how you choose to represent yourself.

I don't care what the hue of the skin is, if I see some thug coming in looking all around suspiciously and he just so happens to be wearing huge diamond earrings I will keep an eye on him. He may be planning to rob the place, who knows.
