i knwo there are wattage calculators but they aren't really up to date, so im wondering if this psu is sufficient for my new system

i'm on a real tight udget and 400-500 watt psu's with DUAL+12V cost in the 80-100 range

better to be safe than sorry, the PSU is one of the most essential components of a build to ensure lasting stability and a poor PSU can cause more trouble than its worth

For 10 dollars more, you can get the FSP-550 (native 24 pin) at Directron. It is highly rated, and as stable as they get. No frills though. You pay only for the stability and raw power.

If you can swing it, I would suggest following Maluckey's advice. The PSU is terribly important, even moreso on these bloody DFI boards. If you don't have 24-pin native, 480-watt minimum, you're setting yourself up for potential problems. The guys over and DFI-Street won't even talk to you until you meet those requirements.

That being said, don't sell your first-born child just to buy a PSU. If you can't afford the extra, something with a 24-pin adapter and slightly less than 480-watts can work. Just don't be surprised if something goes wrong. But you're not running 3 harddrives or a lot of other peripherals, so going with the bare minimum shouldn't be a problem.
