Is This PSU Good Enough For Me?

Ok, so I'm planing on building this rig after the Intel price drop:

Intel Q6600
eVGA 680i 122-CK-NF68-A1
eVGA 8800 GTX
2GB DDR2 800 PC 6400

The only thing left I have to consider is the PSU. Originally when I was planing on buying a E6600, the PSU I was going to get was the Corsair 620HX. I read some good reviews about it, and it has 620 total watts, puts out a total of 50 amps on the 12v and it was on the tier 2 list. Overall, I thought the Corsair was a pretty good choice. I have been out of the loop for a little while, but can you guys give me any suggestions. Do you think this PSU is a good choice, is it big enough to run my rig, and do you guys have any other PSU suggestions, if you do, please explain yourself and why your PSU is better. Thanks for the advice in advanced.

Unless you're running a massive amount, the 520 would be just fine. Note anand's testbed using ~330watts at complete load for an X6800 and an 8800GTX. The Q6600 doesn't use anywhere near enough energy to make a difference in this case with the 520hx, let alone the 620hx.

should be fine. Depending on how many drives/fans/lights/pumps... you have and how much you plan to overclock. Both the q6600 and the gtx can draw significantly more power at overclocked then stock (especially if you change the voltages), so if you want to overclock definitely go with the 620 and if you plan on doing any extreme overclocking (or using water or better) then maybe even something more then the 620 might be in order.

i have an enermax 500W psu with an intel xeon x3060 (e6600 equivalent) 2.4Ghz @ 3.6Ghz, 7900GT @ 500/850, 120GB ide, 2x400GB sata, 1 dvd-rw and its powering it all just fine.

The 520 would also work for that system just fine. Up to you really if you think running at less of a % load is worth the added cost.

The other components that I will have in my rig are:

1 Western Digital IDE 7200 rpm Hard Drive
1 Western Digital SATA Hard Drive
1 DVD-RW/DVD+RW Drive
1 Sound Blaster Audigy Pro
2 USB Devices
1 Fan Controller
3 80mm Regular Fans
1 80mm LED Fan

With all of that, I don't think it will draw that much more. Also another quick question, if I wanted to do SLI and put in 2 8800GTX, do you think this PSU would support it, or would I have to go much bigger?

With 2 GTX's I would go with the HX620 Corsair. I think the 520W will handle it but I wouldn't want it running at that much of a load often.

I would slightly oversize the PSU for any future upgrades. My PC Power & Cooling is still going strong. 115

I'd say PC Power and Cooling 700W+ is safer bet although this 620HX will probably suffice for your current needs.
