Is this PSU good enough for an amd 7950?

Nox what? Model?

Make sure it has two PCIe power connectors with the right pin configurations. 7950 is 2x6-pin by default but it also comes in 6+8-pin and 2x8-pin variants.

Don't know about the Nox but I'm using a 620W Corsair PSU with a Gigabyte 7950 (rest of major power consumer are i7-860, HD + SSD + optical drives, soundcard & wifi card). Never come up short in power in the last 3 years I have been using the system.

Good to know.
Thank you.

Looks like it says NX series on the box.

It has 2x6 pin cables so don't get a 7950 that requires 8 pin connectors.

The +12V rating is easily enough, I just hope its voltage regulation and other power characteristics are within spec.

I wanted to get the Sapphire one, will that work?

Yes. The regular Sapphire Boost card with dual fans is 2x6-pin.

I had actually checked all of this before I said yes. There is only one Nox 620W. The AMD spec said 2 six pin. Are there actually ones out there that require an 8 pin?

The old vapor-x was 6+8-pin. The new one is 8+8-pin.

HIS IceQ-X is 6+8-pin
