Yes it is

nvidia suggest a 450 Watt minium for the 8800GTX....the 8800GT pulls much less power than the 8800GTX. Nvidia is also putting in a bit of a fudge factor on that 450 Watt rating, assuming that someone may not get the best quality 450 Watt out there.

What you have in the Corsair VX450 is basically a 450 Watt PSU rated at 50C as opposed to the 40C or 45C other top brand companies rate their products at.

I am not sure what Antec rates at, but lets say they rate the Earthwatts at 45C and the Seasonic Platform both of these PSUs are based on has a derating curve of 10 Watts lost for every 1C increase in temperature.

If Antec rates the Earthwatts 500W at 45C then when it hits 50C it will be limited to 450Watts because 5C increase time 10Watts lost per 1C increase is 50 Watts.

Even it I am incorrect about how Antec rates their units, the Corsair VX450 is rated at 33 Amps on the 12V rail (the most important rail in a modern PSU) versus 34 Amps on the Antec Earthwatts 500.
