Is this psu enough to power my system.

For my vnf4ultra in sig?
It's a vnf4ultra, 1gb ram, 3000+ winnie @ 2.45ghz, 6600gt(oc some), hd, dvd-rw, pci modem, 120mm fan, 80mm fan.

My Tagan 480w has died, so that's the situation. I thought the Tagans were "good" psus, I guess all mfgs make a few bad ones.

Here're the specs on the thermaltake.
+3.3V@30A; +5V@40A; -5V@0.3A; +12V@18A; -12V@0.8A; +5VSB@2A
I like the price, only $37, the tagan cost me $85.

Kinda small amperage, and possibly noisy with two fans. You'd be better off with something else that gives you more room for upgrading. Unless of yourse if you're on a really tight budget.

It should be fine, but I voted iffy, because my first expirience with a thermaltake PSU was a bad one. It died after 3 days. Plus the 12v rail is a little low for a 420w PSU, my 350w enermax has 26a on the 12v rail..the replacement for the dead PSU has been running fine for almost a year now, but personaly I would never put one in my main rig.

Umm, the tagan just stopped working(at least partially). One day it wouldn't boot, so I tried a bunch of stuff, like check that the cables were tight etc, but it still wouldn't boot, it would however, power the fans, and the fp leds, just not the mobo/cpu. I put another psu in and it booted, it must be the problem. My guess is that one of the rails failed, since some things had power.

Oh, btw, are there any other psus (from newegg preferably) that would be better at under $40 shipped?
I've looked at some cooler master ones, but decided against them. Is thermaltake any good?

Is a "good" psu worth $45 more? My tagan failed so why bother to buy the "good" ones. With the thermaltake I can afford to buy two for the price of one tagan, if one would fail I'd have a replacement ready.
