Is this problem Hardware related?

I own a Sony Vaio Laptop PCG-K27 and a serious problem started a few days ago. Whenever I start the computer and enter windows it starts a very weird issue that I have enver seen before. It is hard to explain but it looks like someone is holding tab key, it is difficult to click on anything since whenever you try to enter Start button it clicks out. Or whenever you try to enter information it clicks out just like someone is holding the tab button. If I hold down tab and alt the problem will stop for a few minutes then start again.

Now my question is if anybody has seen a virus or spyware that would generate this kind of problem. I accidently spilled some coffee on the machine about 2 months and it went in the tab key area. But the keyboard wored fine the last 2 months. Is it possible the spilled coffee did not manifest until now?

Let's see...

you spilled coffee on your laptop keyboard, now your keyboard acts funny...

Hmm. What could the problem be? 😛

Slightly more seriously: yes, it could take a while for it to cause any big issues. Did you take it apart and clean it after you spilled the coffee on it? If not, it's probably been slowly rusting for two months, and now the contacts on the keys are shot (or it leaked into the keyboard control electronics, which is really bad).

Might just be the TAB key stuck in the depressed position, try gently prying it loose. If that doesn't change anything, look for other stuck keys as well.
