i live in Bangladesh. here 90% vendors sell intel based system. only one vendor is selling athlon based product with msi mother board. so i don't have much choice. i cannot even look for low prices in different shops.

i am buying a system tommorow.

athlon 2000+xp
msi kt4 ultra motherboard
256mb ddr 333 bus ram
msi geforce mx 440 8x agp

these things are costing me about 400$. just curiosity. according to international market is the price too high? what should be the actual price?

Is the 2000+ retail? I assumed yes.

In the UK, all that together INCL. 17.5% VAT would run at $380 (dabs.com as the supplier).
So, that does not sound too bad. In the US it would be cheaper, though.

seems like a good price. this is what i got from Newegg.com, now i could get better prices from local OEMs but their return policy sucks. here's what i got.

KT4 ultra - $105 usd
XP 2000+ - OEM $79 / Retail $90 USD
Memory - Generic $50 USD
- corsair $93 / XMS $97 USD
- crucial $66 USD
- samsung $64 USD
GF 440mx 8x - $99 USD

Plus taxes and shippin, in your case u would be tax exempted

P.S. hey Memphis, What is VAT?? anyways
