Is this even possible? I know someone on another forum claiming he can get X2s, the newest line of nVidia's video cards for less than retail and make a complete top of the line computer for less than $1k. I called him on it and said the cheapest X2 at newegg is like 500+ and even the video card is $500+. So the processor and video card come out to already $1k. He said his friend buys in bulk and sells to him and his friends because they are gamers lol.

Tell him to build you one and, if the final bill is less than $1000, you'll buy it. If not, he has to swallow the cost and give it to you.

Well just about anything costs less in bulk, so without further information it's hard to really say. "Top of the line" is really the operative word here...

Also, the top of the line X2 is $1030 and the 7800GTX is $690.
