Is this possible?

Say I have a multi-disc game (CD1..cd2...cd3..cd4) in my HDD, and I want to save CD by burning each CD folder into one single DVD. Anyway, when I install the game from CD1, after it finish with CD1, it will ask for CD2. Since it's in its own folder on the DVD, I know it will be impossible to make it locate.

If I use virtual drive for CD2, will it help to make the computer believe that I already insert CD2 so it can continue the installation from CD1? Or is it wise to burn those CD game folder into each of their own CD disc?

thanks

ps: sorry about my English

It sounds logical to me, but I don't know if it will actually work. That's one of the best ideas I've seen around here lately. :p

Actually unless you dump all of the files into one big folder depending on the game (some multi cd installs have the same filenames on different disks) it will always prompt for the next cd in the list. What I have done is used something like daemon tools to mount each cd folder to its own drive and when the "insert next disk" prompt comes up, I simply change "d" to "e" "f" etc. this saves me a lot of time, especially when I am loading the game on multiple LAN party machines.

Hmmm...that's pretty cool. But when you put all the files into one big folder, it will be a one big mess. Some CD2-3-4 have the same exact stuff as CD1, so it might not be save as one big folder. What I would do is to make each folder to its own CD. Anyway, anyone here know if which one is better, Daemon Tool or Nero Virtual Drive?

Daemon Tools can mount almost any image type - Nero is be comparision extremely limited.

There's a way to pack multidisc games if the filenames don't overrun. IE: data2, data3, data4.cab - you can cram them all onto a single disc and it'll install. Copy-protection gets hosed though, and you'll have to use a No-CD crack (Which we will NOT help you find!) to circumvent it.

I didn't know that. So typically, the only thing needed after the first CD is the dataX.cab files? (ie, where X is a different number)?

So if I got some multi CD game, and each CD doesn't have filenames overrun, then all I need is pack them into one single folder? That's pretty cool, but I can also do the alter way by creating each folder for each CD as well right?

ps: Oh don't worry about NO-CD patch hehehehe.

P.S. Oh, don't worry about getting any further help on our forums if you EVER post about using warez software again. If you do, your account will be permanently locked.

To give you some perspective, you have no idea how many of our members are registered with addresses @microsoft.com, adobe.com, symantec.com and many more. What do you think we would do if their anti-piracy departments sent us a legal request for information about you and what you posted? The answer is, we would have no choice but to give them everything we have about you.

It would be a cool feature, for those discs that were copy-protected and require running under "emulation" in D-T, if it could allow creating a multi-disc-image-volume, such that it would be stored on a single piece of media, but putting it in the drive would trigger emulation/mounting of multiple virtual disc images.
