Is this possible, vista sleep without blinking?

I want to use sleep mode in vista, but I don't want the bright power led blinking. I just want the light to be solid so I know theres power. Is there any way to configure this? Can't sleep at night with the blinking

That has nothing to do with Vista, its how your motherboard supports sleep mode (mine for example is a simple yellow led vs a green one).

Tape is your friend .... 🙂

lol had a feeling that was the problem. Can you tell me another thing, why can't I power on via usb keyboard? I can't find the option for usb keyboards in the bios. It seems it's only possible through ps/2 keyboards

Make sure any usb wake options are enabled in your bios, in windows go to device manager and go to your keboard, make sure 'allow this device to wake the machine' is enabled....

Also, some motherboards support different levels of sleep. For example, on mine, regular sleep leaves the lights and fans running, where as "deep" sleep shuts everything off, as if my computer was off with no LEDs, fans, etc. Maybe your motherboard has different sleep modes? Although the blinking light is probably already the deeper sleep, so yeah, tape.

I used to have the same problem, a post-it note was not the most elegant solution but it's easy and works like a charm 😛
