I am giving a speech tomorrow on Privacy and GPS tracking devices. I would like to show a clip from the movie Enemy of the State to the class. I have the movie on DVD, but the classroom I will be in does not have a dvd rom in the computer.:( So what I would like to do is (if possible) is use my dvd rom to record the section of the movie I need and then be able to just bring the section into the class room and use windows media player to play it.

Is this possible to do? How would I record the section I need?

Do a search on download.com, there are bunch of programs out there that will just record whatever is on your screen at the time.

Rip the DVD to mpg, and don't bother with the DivX conversion.
There's nothing worse than having the wrong format of file and trying to install stuff on a computer that doesn't have net access. Make sure to create several different formats of the clip, just in case one doesn't work.
