Is this possible (backing up stuff)

Say I have a retail game Halo (1 cd), but I copy the whole CD into my HDD. Now, I want to burn the whole stuff into a DVD (I love DVD). So when I insert that DVD, will it boot and have the auto play/installation just like it's still on the CD disc?

If I back it up on a CD-R, it will boot up just like the retail version. I just don't know if it will work on DVD though.

Thanks

ps: This is not against the forum's rule since I never ask on how to back up or anything illegal. I just want to know if it the thing will work or not.

I dont see why you would want too... if you "love DVD" or not... there's no reason to do this...

But I would assume it will work just the same... with about 4 gig worth of wasted space...

I think it would work, but I was more interested in the same idea for multiple CD games, and they only thing I can think of I would have to use a fixed/no CD exe otherwise the game will not play with today's copy protections. But since install does not check copy protection you should be able to install just fine.

Well actually I plan to buy half 50 pack of CD, and 50 pack of DVD. The total money is almost equal as 100 pack of DVD. So I don't see why I should get that 50 pack of CD anymore....Anyway, people still use CD these day?! ...jk

backing up multi-cd game into one big DVD is the good idea.
