Is this picture CGI?

No. Usually these threads are split 50/50 with those saying CGI getting pwned, but that one doesn't looke modified at all.

Something about the picture isn't right. Especially when you invert the colors...it looks too precise...

No. That is most definitely a real pic, and anybody who says it's CGI needs to step away from the computer and into the world known as the outdoors.

the deers look like cgi to me the terrain seems hard to tell

what is this ..."outdoor" you speak of?

if thats real thats a perfect exposure. im into photography and so many things when done right dont look real unless scutinized. i require high-res pic. the way the lighting falls on the two deer and the way the edges dont mix with the background is really making me rethink my decision that its real. the colors and lightning don't seem to blend the way they oughta between the deer and the background.

Oh Jesus H. Christ.

It's so obvious that the picture is real it's not even funny.

Where the F are the shadows? It's a CGI.

shadows are not required in outdoors. overcast = no shadows
it looks likes partial overcast. the shadows are very dim and extremely soft. look behind the two deer, to the left of each one. the lighting looks to be coming from behind the cameraman. if the cameraman was facing north, the lighting would be coming from his south-southeast

Now that you mention it, the rock in this one seems kind of odd. It's like the whole picture is in focus.

thats called extremely small aperture. everything can be detailed and in focus. that shot was probably F/22 or F/32.

The fur is so obviously fake and the lighting is nowhere near what it would be in real life. Not to mention the dynamic range of the photo is eerily high.

Here's a real-life fallow deer picture: http://www.oxygene.demon.co.uk/gallery/2003-07-27-deer.jpg

You people are fscking INSANE. You need to step the fsck outside every once in a while.

That is a real picture.

And how do you know? You are just guesing like the rest of us are. Stop swearing, it's just a picture. Some people are interested in the area of CGI.

well if that is a real picture they definitely enhanced that sh!t out of it

word... seems like someone cranked the contrast way up in photoshop

Maybe the background is real and the deer are real but they're from two different photos?

opening poster's link

fallo_deer_inverted.jpg Nothing too strange except it looks a bit too perfect...Notice the thin blades of grass over the deer that don't look natural.

fallo_deer_autolevels.jpg Ok weird...I'd swear the deer came from a different picture...grass really stands out here.

fallo_deer_autolevels_inverted.jpg Hmmmm notice the blades of grass again.

a quality photography that one is not. 😉
again, the best ones can be debated to know end until the artist or photographer or someone who knows comes in and explains.
