Is this PC good for gaming, Photoshop, and video editing?

I am making this PC to do some light Photoshop and video editing, but the main purpose is gaming. My budget is $800 and I am buying everything off Newegg unless you guys can recommend another site with better prices. (I am thinking of overclocking)

Case: APEVIA X-DREAMER4

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K

Graphic Card: SAPPHIRE 100354OC-2L Radeon HD 7870

Hard Drive: Western Digital WD Blue 1TB

PSU: RAIDMAX Blackstone series RX-700AC 700W

Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4

Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB

I'm not in the loop when it comes to GPUs, but on first inspection:

  • Are you overclocking? If not, just get a 3570 over the 3570K... Or even better, go for a 4xxx series (Haswell). It's newer and "better" for the same price afaik. And I'd go for an i7 Haswell if at all possible (which is 4 cores, and 8 virtual afaik, given Hyper-Threading). More cores = more threads = good for video editing.
  • If you absolutely want to get a mechanical/spindle hard drive, get at least a WD Black (or equivalent). The Blue series is considerably slower than the Black (5400rpm vs. 7200rpm among other things); I'm pretty sure Photoshop absolutely has to use scratch space, meaning your hard drive will be a bottleneck if you're doing heavier work. A faster drive will really benefit you all around. That being said, I'm sure a lot of people will recommend getting an SSD instead of a traditional hard drive, though the amount of storage you get per dollar is less afaik.
  • I don't know about the RAM, but I do know 8GB is the absolute minimum you should be considering, given what you want to do.
  • I've never heard of RAIDMAX, but it sounds pretty low-tier. If it is in fact low-tier, you should invest in a better PSU (and pay attention to amps per rail or whatever - wattage is only part of the story).

You should give us your budget btw.

The General Hardware subforum is great for threads like this.

Only red flag I see is the power supply. Raidmax is junk. Antec, Corsair, and several others would be much better.
