is this overly geeky?

I was posting grill pictures to my personal site for the last few weeks, but i decided to go all out and start a new site for grilling stuff.

Right now its just a gallery, but I'm adding a grillblog, recipes, grill + charcoal reviews, etc.

my grill gallery - you're welcome to register and post your grill pics if you so desire.

I think it's a great idea. Kudos!

Now hook me up with a fat porterhouse!

This is a great idea.

You might want to do some step-by-step pictorials of what you are doing such as photos of the amount of charcoal, what it looks like when it is ready to place the food on the grill, how close to place the food over the coal, recipes for what you are putting on the meat, how long you left the food over the heat and what it should look like when it is ready, etc. There are plenty of people out there that need to learn all of this.

Oh, and I don't say this often, but you should definitely have a forum.

BTW, what kind of grill is that? Looks like mine.

Is it necesary to upload thumbnails? Is it possible to get something that will auto do that for you once you upload the image?

I just uploaded something, but didn't make a thumbnail for it, so we'll see how it goes through :D

The homepage for Coppermine has some links to apps that will auto thumbnail images for you, but it's a serverside thing I believe.

It creates the thumbnail automatically :)
right now I have to validate all images, if users contribute regularly i'll set their permissions to not require validation.
Thanks for posting a pic, I love the portabella caps, those are great on the grill!!

(I think i'll do some this weekend!)
