Is this overkill?

I'm about to build a new AMD X2 system and am starting to wonder if my initial thoughts on video might be a little more than what I actually need. I'll be running the native resolution of my 17" LCD of 1280x1024 in most of my games like Oblivion or BF2142.

Considering that low a resolution, is it worth it to get a hot and loud 1950xt or would I be just fine with a 1950pro? I'm basically stuck between these two:

HIS IceQ 3 Turbo X1950PRO 256MBHIS IceQ 3 Turbo X1950PRO 256MB @ $159.99 ($149 after rebate.)

SAPPHIRE X1950XT 256MB@ $179.99 ($159.99 after rebate)

I know the XT will beat the Pro in benchmarks but am I really going to notice a difference at my resolution? Considering the power and noise level differences, it seems more than a simple $10 decision.

Between those two, which way would you go?

Doesnt matter, the XT is much better, if you hit cpu limitation just crank up AA anyway, and you wont with new games... Even a 8800 GTX can barely pull off perfect fps with high AA
