I have a 1.2Ghz Tbird running at 1420mhz. Whenever I transfer files over the network or whenever my HD is being accessed alot my CPU usage is damn near 100%!!! I have 512mb pc133 CL2 ram so that aint the problem. I have an old 8gb Maxtor 5400rpm HD. I am getting a new 75gxp next week. Why the hell is my CPU usage 100% when accessing the HD though? Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.
