A few days ago i was copying some misc video files from disk to disk within the same system. however this was my first time doing this the folder size was approx. 7 Gigs of .avi and .mpeg files the process of copying took more then 6 hrs. is this normal 😕

ok.... this is the work pc... 1 mth old

GA-EP35-DS3L
E4400 @ 2.4 ghz
4 GB ddr2
160GB hdd 35% free/ osd
320GB hdd 12% free Storage
both drives sata II 3.0

drives are defragmented every 4 days due to the amount of small files dealt with on a daily basis

No, six hours is excessive time for a 7 gig disk-to-disk copy. Are both drives running in DMA mode? If one has dropped into PIO mode it could explain that kind of performance decrease.
