Is this normal for this mobo

I'm getting a "cmos battery low" and "cmos memory size wrong" when I boot-up this new box I'm building.
Mobo is ECS K7S5A with duron 900 / L1 & L7 bridges closed.
Also I'm installing win98se and have read I should disable ACPI in bios prior to installing os.
Any advice Thanks WB

It's posting these messages after diplaying drive info. I havn't installed the os yet as I,m still trying to determine which bios to use. BTW the bios date is 7/24/2001. This mobo doesn't even have the first bios revision. Also I only have 4 mhz options as follows
100/100
100/133/
133/100
133/133
Trying to determine best bios to use (O/C)?
I have heard of many people that own these boards having problems with them so I'm attempting to head off any problems now (before loading os)

First off, about those warnings - I've heard of ppl running rigs on low BIOS batteries for a year, and others not even days. So that could go either way. As for the mhz ratings, 100/133 is what you want for a Duron/DDR config

To o/c it just run it @ 133/133 - but I don't know what, if any real performance gains you'll squeeze outta a Duron core by doing that. (And I don't think that board allows you to up the VCore via BIOS)

I got that board for a friend two months ago, and finally had him buy a new one last week - I know it got good reviews but I think it sux - simply put

the message is "normal" for the first time. After you reboot, the message should be gone. If still exist, some where has some problem.
For non-overclock, i guess you should use 100/133 (if you have PC133 RAM), 100/100 (if you have PC100 RAM)

There is only one better OC bios. Check the ECS forums on www.ocworkbench.com. There are many good info and FAQ there.
