Oh!! Now that's fckin' low!!

We have one of the best Cancer reseach institutions in the US as well as one of the best Space and Aeronautical universities in the US (Utah State University)

At least our residents can actually fill out a ballot!

amish

I filled out my absentee ballot for Bush just fine.. I'm just glad those stupid people cancelled out the fact that half the absentee ballots weren't counted.

Heard that one before, probably so many times that it isn't funny. If I had a nickle for every time someone wrote a letter to the Tribune with that phrase in it I would, uhhhhh, have a cubic assload of nickels

You need to read the article again. The guys were not busted.

The bar they were in was under investigation for serving obviously intoxicated persons. That is illegal in most all states. The cab was stopped to investigate whether the patrons were intoxicated so they would have evidence to go after the bar, not to arrest the patrons.

But yea, Utah liquor laws suck.

That would follow, but why breath-o-lize the cabbie?

Exactly how I feel. I would much rather have them drunk and in the back of a cab than behind the steering wheel of an automobile.

This kindof thing has happened in Fairfax, VA lately too. Fairfax County Police have been coming into bars (not undercover) and basically forcing people who they deem are drunk to take breathalyzer tests and if they fail, they are arrested for public drunkenness. They did this to a bar across the street from my house on New year's eve. They claim it prevents people from drinking and driving... But what I don't understand is how do they know they were planning on driving home?

I was just about to say this. I first heard about it on the Don & Mike Show.

I'm glad I live in Illinois, where I have the freedom to get tanked anytime and to the extent that I want to!
