I just got a wifi card for free 😀 cant beat that 😉 Its a dlink DWL-520 PCI 2.4ghz B PCI card to be exact. Anyways so I brought it home and decide to make sure it at least worked. I installed it my computer ruining windows xp and created a new wireless network. I set the network up so it would be in ad hoc mode then gave the card an static ip address. Well then I was able to connect to the new network i just created on the same computer. However the link status always says low

I am wondering if this is normal without having another card installed in another computer for the two to connect to each other? I was planing on ordering another card or see if cant come up with another freebie soon.
