I have an Antec Basiq power 550 Plus on a Phenom II x3 720 @ 3.72ghz/1.498v, two sticks of DDR 3 1600 cas 7-10-8-22/1.63v ram, two HD's and one GTX 460.

In my overclocking ventures I've noticed a high pitched whine coming from my PSU at full load that was never there before. If I put the CPU at full load I hear the whine, if I put the GPU at full load I hear a whine.

It's extremely high pitched and I it's getting louder over time. Should I dump this PSU??? Just want to be sure.

coil whine...and that happens on the GPU coils sometimes too.

It is coils of wire vibrating very fast

check if the CPU fan are plugged into the power fan connector instead of the appropriate CPU fan connector. If its plugged into the powerfan connector take it out and plug it into the cpu fan connector

Nonsense. Your response answers none of the OP's problems......whining increasing with GPU load, whining increasing over time. If the cpu fan was stuck on high, the "whine" from the fan would be constant no matter the load and wouldn't increase over time.
